Attacks against the “New Women” of India

As discussed in lecture, the process of economic modernization provokes unintended challenges to traditional cultural and social attitudes.  Here’s a report in the New York Times regarding the clash between cultural values of a traditional and modern society by examining horrific crimes against the “New Women” of urban India.
